Terms of use

creditunions.online (Credit Union Ledger, "we") is an independent website. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What the site is

Credit Union Ledger republishes public data that credit unions file with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA): one page per credit union with its assets, members, capital and late loans by quarter, state lists, a merger tracker, a list of credit unions that say on their own sites that almost anyone can join, guides, and data downloads.

Credit Union Ledger is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of NCUA or any credit union. We are not a credit union, bank, lender or financial adviser. We can't open accounts, check or decide membership, or see anyone's account, and no credit union pays us.

Information, not advice

Everything here is general information. It is not financial, tax or legal advice for your situation, and it is not a recommendation to join, deposit with or borrow from any credit union. It is not a rating of any credit union's safety. Reading the site or writing to us doesn't create an advisory or other professional relationship.

Data, not offers or eligibility decisions

Figures are what each credit union reported on its NCUA call report for the quarter named on the page, processed as the methodology describes. They are not offers, rates or terms. A listing on the "anyone can join" page reflects what that credit union's own eligibility page said on the date shown; it is not a promise that you can join or will be accepted. Each credit union sets and applies its own membership and account rules.

Data sources and dates

Financial figures come from NCUA's 5300 Call Report quarterly data files, dated by quarter on every page. Branch locations come from NCUA's branch file, mergers from NCUA's quarterly merger reports, and eligibility from each credit union's own website, with the date checked. NCUA publishes each quarter about two months after it ends, so figures are always at least that old. See the methodology.

What you send us

When you use a form you confirm that what you send is accurate and yours to send, and you let us use it to reply to you, to send alerts you set and to correct the site. Please don't send account numbers, ID numbers or passwords. How we handle what you send is in our privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, to send spam or malware, to interfere with how it runs, or to scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others. The downloads and the data page are there so you don't need to scrape.

Our content and the data licence

The text, design and graphics belong to creditunions.online. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back. The tables and files on the data page are offered under the licence stated there. Credit union names are their owners' names and marks, used only to identify them. The name Credit Union Ledger is unrelated to creditunionsonline.com.

Links to other sites

We link to credit unions, NCUA and other data sources so you can check figures at the source. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them. A link isn't an endorsement, and no credit union pays us for a link, a listing or a position. If that ever changes, the paid link will be labeled next to it.

No warranties

The site is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, creditunions.online is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses from using the site or relying on it, and our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US$100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Indemnity

If you misuse the site or break these terms and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem with the site, tell us first at hello@creditunions.online or through the contact form; most things can be fixed that way, and we'll try for 30 days before either side files anything.

If that doesn't resolve it, any dispute will be decided by individual binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, not in court, and not as a class or representative action. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@creditunions.online (or sending a "Legal notice" through the contact form) within 30 days of first using the site, with your name and a line saying you opt out.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date forward.

Contact and legal notices
